NFL Analyst Has Bold Take On Dolphins, Tua Tagovailoa Contract
Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports

In a stunning reversal of fortunes, Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has transcended early career setbacks to emerge as a top contender for the NFL MVP and a potential record holder for being the highest-paid quarterback.

After enduring a severe injury in college and a harrowing incident early in his professional career with the Dolphins, many doubted Tagovailoa’s longevity in the league. However, his resilience has led to a career-defining 2023 season.

Last season, Tagovailoa silenced critics by throwing for a personal best of 4,624 yards and 29 touchdowns, contributing significantly to the Dolphins’ 11 victories in 17 games. His exceptional performance not only established him as a key player for Miami but also sparked discussions about his new contract.

Joy Taylor of FOX Sports has voiced a strong opinion that the Dolphins should offer him a record-breaking contract, making him the league’s highest-paid quarterback.

“The Dolphins should make Tua the highest-paid quarterback because Tua is the next man up, and that is how it works. He will be the highest-paid for however long until the next guy that is going to get paid and then they will be the highest-paid.”

This comes in the wake of the team’s intriguing offseason moves, including signing talent like star free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., which seems to reinforce their commitment to building a winning team around Tagovailoa.

While it is uncertain how long Tagovailoa would hold the title of the highest-paid quarterback, assuming he does get that big of a deal, his current career path suggests that he is one of the best in the NFL.

As the Miami Dolphins continue to enhance their roster and Tua Tagovailoa grows and develops even more, the future looks promising for both the quarterback and his team.

It will certainly be interesting to see what kind of numbers the deal between the Dolphins and Tagovailoa look like when everything is said and done.
