Some players can take criticism and good-natured ribbing. Tom Brady is getting that later this month when he's going to be the subject of a celebrity roast on Netflix.
However, not all players are all that able to handle criticism, even when it's good natured. Lavonte David went on the Rich Eisen show on Friday and he had an interesting response when asked about who he thinks would not be able to handle a roast.
#Bucs LB Lavonte David was on the Rich Eisen show Friday ahead of Tom Brady’s roast on Netflix & was asked who of his former teammates would be the best roasters. He went on to name Lenny Fournette & Gerald McCoy. When asked who wouldn’t be able to take it, he named Devin White.. pic.twitter.com/TuKWZogLyZ

"Somebody who won't be able to take it? I'll have to go with my boy Devin White," David said. "Devin White probably won't be able to take a roast. Nah, he won't be able to take it. He's kind of sensitive a little, sometimes."
That's nothing new to many Buccaneer fans, who felt that White was a little bit too bothered by criticism, to which he received a lot over the last two seasons. Warren Sapp called out White's lack of hustle during the Ravens' win over the Bucs in 2022. The offseason followed, and the Bucs declined to offer an extension to White, who demanded a trade and ended up staging a hold-in during mandatory minicamp.
Well, White ended up posting a couple of cryptic social media posts during the season, the last of which came in late December after K.J. Britt had been seeing the field a good bit.
White ended up signing with the Eagles on a one-year deal in the offseason. Now, the Bucs should have a group of linebackers far more interested in winning games on the field than generating drama off of it.
And that should suit Bucs fans just fine.
