Entering his name into the transfer portal in April, former ASU star wider receiver Elijhah Badger has found himself a new school to play for and it is not located in Arizona.

Even though he planned to visit Arizona State’s arch-rival University of Arizona, the Sun Devils fans’ can breathe a sigh of relief as he has instead committed to Florida.

According to 247Sports national college football reporter Matt Zenitz, Badger is destined to become a Gator.

“Former Arizona State standout wide receiver Elijhah Badger has committed to Florida,” Zenitz said. “The 2023 All-Pac 12 honorable mention selection has been the top-ranked uncommitted offensive player in the transfer portal.”

The 6-foot-2 receiver wrapped up his fourth and final year in Tempe last season. Badger played 11 games, finishing with 65 receptions for 713 yards and three touchdowns.

Overall in the Valley, the former four-star recruit suited up for 35 games in 2020-23, totaling 142 catches, 1640 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.

Despite going on official visits to Arizona and Washington, Badger toured Florida this week and is now committed.

Similar to Badger, new San Francisco 49er Ricky Pearsall also made the switch from ASU to Florida as well and Badger looks to follow in his footsteps. Pearsall, a Chandler native and Corona Del Sol High School product, was the No. 29 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

With Badger’s departure from Arizona State, sophomore Jordyn Tyson, senior Jake Smith and junior Troy Omeire are all projected to take another step in the program’s first season in the Big 12 Conference. Former Penn State WR Malik McClain transferred to ASU last Sunday.
